Wow... I actually posted something and it actually has a background.
Been reading Hideyuki Kikuchi's novels since they're translated and here. Just watched the old movie again and I have to say, I like the book a lot better.
This is actually the first time I drew D. He started off as a head sketch, then I finished that and said to myself, "why don't I draw that horse?" Did that (and after much frustration) decided it needed a background.
And there you have it.

cover of Vampire Hunter D used as a costume reference
D and his horse belong to Hideyuki Kikuchi and Yoshitaka Amano, but this sketch is mine!
You know, I'd love to see more work from you like this. Not just because I like D, but because despite the sketchiness of it, the picture still has a soft tone to it that really completes the picture. You don't mind if I use this as my personal desktop wallpaper, do you?
heh, I love when small sketches get out of hand like that! XD Came out excellently. Horse is very nice and I love how smooth D's face is compared to the scratchiness of everything else.

God, I love this so much! the way D's face came out, it's like it's described in the books. And all the strokes just make it look more alive. The horse's head is way better than i could draw it xD Oh, and the background is brilliant too, it's deep I like the look in D's eyes. And his hand : D
Really nice work!
Keep it up.
